Summer Activities
Each year, the Arts Center offers a program of summer art camps and workshops. These classes are enrichment opportunities for the youth of our community. A schedule of art camps will be announced in the late spring. Camps are typically one week long and are held in the morning. Each camp has a theme and is geared toward a certain age group. Examples of camps from 2008 summer session are: Snap, Crackle, Pop Art for ages 9 – 12 which included printmaking and sculpture; Welcome to Seussville for ages 5 – 8 including art based on the popular books; and
3-D and Me exploring art in three dimensions. Each summer the Arts Center offers one week of Art Adventure Camp with classes in a variety of media for all ages. This camp is always the first full week after July 4 and is a popular choice. Also there is one week that is a full day camp with activities at the Arts Center, Museum, Theatre and Homemade Genius.
Capsugel, a division of Pfizer, has been a loyal sponsor of the summer art camp program.
The schedule for summer 2009 will be posted in the late spring or call the Arts Center 388-7800 and speak to Ivy Ware.
