Cars

The Railroad Historical Center is home to seven vintage train cars.  The diverse collection represents the heyday of American railroading and offers a great diversity of cars for visitors to explore.  The site is home to  the nations largest collection of Piedmont and Northern cars.   The vintage rail cars include:

  • Number 19--Baldwin Locomotive Works 2-8-2 Mikado type steam locomotive built in 1906. 
  • 2102-- P & N interurban electric passenger car, built in 1919.
  • Pulman 76 seat passenger coach (circa 1940)
  • Pullman Diner, circa 1929
  • Pullman "America class" sleeper (circa 1929)
  • P & N Executive Car "Carolina"
  •  P & N caboose X-23
