House

The J.B. Park house was built in 1906, and the stone veneer added in 1926.  The construction and decoraton of the home are typical of the late victorian period, perhaps its most remarkable attribute is the nearly one acre semi-formal garden. The house sat vacant for nearly a decade before the Adams family purchased the property in the late 1960's to create the Railroad Historical Center.

The house is not currently open to the public, but we have plans in the coming years to complete a comprehensive renovation of the house.  After that project, the main floor will be opened as a historic house museum depicting life around 1930.  The upper floor will provide conference and rental space for meetings and events.
