Greenwood Community Theatre
presents
This coming season at Greenwood Community Theatre we are proud to announce a new theatre/musical theatre educational program for children ages 5-17.
Each show in the Kids for Kids 2008-2009 season will have a specific age range associated with it so our children have the opportunity to work with appropriate groups as they learn and grow and become excellent youth theatre practitioners.
Remember! Kids may also audition for appropriate Main Stage and Second Stage productions!!!!
Here are a few points of clarity:
- Teaching entrepreneurial thinking, these 45 minute to 2 hour long productions are designed for young people to learn to produce, direct, design, work tech, market, stage manage, and perform in.
- Professional adult supervision of these shows ensures that our region’s youths have an opportunity to explore and learn in a safe and well defined environment.
- There will be occasional roles for adults and for college aged students in the Kids 4 Kids shows. Each production has different challenges, but the most important aspect is to define our program around the needs of our youths.
- Of course there will continue to be fantastic roles for children in our main stage productions at GCT!!!
- GCT is a safe environment for people to learn, grow, and create great theatre
- Theatre is
- FUN
!
- Theatre acts as a catalyst for developing the imagination, creative problem solving, and challenging our young people to take responsibility for all their choice making.
- Theatre is a way for our youths to learn state of the art computer technology under direct supervision of professional adult leaders.
